When some of the old time JW's time is up i wonder what they think in their private moments.
by karter inwe had an old time jw pass away recently he lived his entire life lie the new system was going to be here tomorrow.. he was a gillard grad and went on to be missionry in west africa.. came back home when wife got pregent(they eventuly had 3 children) ,sold everything pre 75 to see the system out and pioneer then had to work his butt off to rebuild his finances and put a roof over his familys head.. he retired and became a co till his wifes health could no longer alow it.. he got a treminal illness and i wonder in his quiter moments did he think ....".ive lived my entire life for a dream that never came true".
he's only one of many i see, their lives comming to an end and the new system is no closer than it was when they started.. .

The real danger of "end times" thinking
by new22day inif the world is going to come to an end doesn't it drain one's motivation to make the world a better place?
is religion just giving people a free pass to apathy and letting them off the hook?

Why Watchtower fights dirty in its war against "apostates"
by cedars ini've just finished putting together an article that attempts to articulate the frustrations faced by those like me in the "apostate" community who are increasingly frustrated by the watchtower's use of dirty tricks in its fight against them.. http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/secrecy-and-deception-watchtower-fights-dirty-in-its-war-against-apostates.
ordinary witnesses are unaware that the watchtower is not fighting apostates on a level playing field.
i highlight three key areas in which this is so.... 1. the huge disparity in how information is presented (i.e.

It's a miserable life --- Really?
by Lady Lee ini was at the check-out counter sitting in my wheelchair, listening to the customer behind me talk to the cashier.
he looks at her and says she looks tired.
she rings through one more of my purchases and she it has been a long day.

I ran into an active JW...surprised
by nolongerconfused inso as you all know, i have fully faded...i'm completely out and have not told the elders or da myself...just faded 100%.... so i run into an active jw, different congregation, and as i walk past him i say, "hey so and so, how are you doing?
"....he looks down, doesnt dare look at me in the eyeball and keeps walking...then a split second later he turns around and says, hey man, aren't yuo disfellowshipped?....
i was like wtf?...lol, i said "not that i know of"...i asked him who told him such thing?...he wouldnt tell me who, but he had "heard"...so i just left it at that and told him if he wants to know then to contact my ex-elders.... my thing is, could the elders have df'ed me without me knowing it?...i have not been accused of their so called "apostasy", nor have i received a letter requesting info or to set up a meeting, nor a call...the coordinating elder (formally president/presiding overseer) still texts me all the time saying hi etc...no religious texts or anything like that).
